OPEN TO PLAYERS WITH A WHS PLAYING INDEX OF 8.0 AND UNDER. AS REFERENCE, LAST YEARS HANDICAP BALLOT FELL AT 4.7.
CONDITIONS
1. The Competition will be open to amateur golfers who are members of recognised golf clubs. Entries for the Gold and Silver Medals will be limited to a WHS playing index of 8.0 and under.
2. One round will be played in the morning which will be counting towards the Silver Medal. All players will then play a second round in the afternoon which, combined with the morning round will count towards the Gold Medal. Play will be in accordance with the Rules of Golf and Local Rules.
3. Entries will be limited to 72. If this is exceeded, higher handicaps will be balloted out. Closing date for entries will be the 8th July 2025
4. All entries must be lodged on an official digital entry form. Your credit or debit card details must be lodged at the point of entry to be added to the entry pool. If a handicap ballot is required, this will be performed shortly after the 8th July closing date and all successful entrants notified of their time and charged at that point.
Please note: No entries will be accepted without payment of the entry fee.
5. No refunds will be issued for players withdrawing less than 7 days before the event.
6. Play will commence at 6:30am, with the afternoon rounds beginning from 11:30am.
6. The Committee reserves the right to reject any entry or alter or amend any of the conditions and its decision in all disputes will be final.
7. The Competitor returning the best scratch score over 36 holes will receive the Gold Medal and the competitor returning the best handicap score over the 1st 18 holes will receive the Silver Medal. If the same player were to win both the Gold & Silver medal, the player would receive the Gold Medal with the Silver awarded to the second best score. Trophies will be retained by the Committee.
In addition, there will be a generous prize fund, with the following prizes for first place:
1st Scratch Prize – Voucher £300 1st Handicap – Voucher £150
8. In the event of a tie for the Gold Medal, there will be a “sudden death” play off over the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 18th holes in that order. In the event of a tie for the Silver Medal, the best inward nine holes will decide, failing which the last six or three holes will be the deciding factor. The value of the vouchers for tied places in both classes will be shared equally.
10. A bar/snack lunch will be obtainable at the Clubhouse. Dress in the Mixed Lounge is smart casual and in the Members Lounge jacket, collar and tie.
11. Slow play may be penalised.
N.B. Players are requested to ensure that their dress on the course is in keeping with the standards of the Club. For guidance, the wearing of denim jeans, hoodies, collarless tee shirts, replica football shirts, beach shorts and the like is not acceptable.
